Objectives

To increase TB case finding and improve case holding in hard-to-reach and underserved communities reporting low TB cases in 41 LGAs of Kwara and Niger state.

Achievements

A total of 1,236,421 people were screened for Tuberculosis, 1,111 persons confirmed positive for all forms of TB and 988 persons were confirmed as smear positive.

The project helped build community structures for sustainable screening and referral of active TB cases using modified clinical tools and mobile technology.

The project utilized a Public Private Mix approach to increase TB case findings and detection by integrating Patent Medicine Vendors (PMVs) focusing on increasing community awareness and mobilization for TB prevention
